Ganabhaban won, we will win the National Parliament: Nahid
National Citizens Committee convener Nahid Islam said, ‘Our goal on August 5 was the fall of fascism. This time our goal is the reconstruction of Bangladesh. The goal on August 5 was Ganabhaban. This time our goal is the National Parliament. We have won Ganabhaban. This time we will also win the National Parliament. The victory of the youth will be celebrated in the upcoming elections.’
Nahid Islam said this at a road meeting at Saheb Bazar Zero Point in Rajshahi Nagar at around 8:15 pm on Sunday.
Nahid Islam also said, ‘But before that, there must be a solution to the reforms, a solution to the trial. We want to see the trial of the murderer Hasina. We want to see reforms. We want to see a new constitution. This generation is promising a new democratic constitution to the people of Bangladesh.’

National Citizens Committee convener Nahid Islam said, ‘On August 5, our goal was the fall of fascism. This time, our goal is the reconstruction of Bangladesh. On August 5, the goal was Ganabhaban. This time, our goal is the National Parliament. We have won Ganabhaban. This time, we will win the National Parliament as well. The victory of the youth will be celebrated in the upcoming elections.’
Nahid Islam said this at a road meeting at Saheb Bazar Zero Point in Rajshahi Nagar on Sunday night around 8:15 pm.
Nahid Islam also said, ‘But before that, there must be a solution to reform, a solution to justice. We want to see the trial of the murderer Hasina. We want to see reform. We want to see a new constitution. This generation is promising a new democratic constitution to the people of Bangladesh.’
Earlier, the Jatiya Nagorik Party started the July march in the city’s Railgate area around 6 pm. Later, the march passed through New Market, Alkar Mor, Ganakpara, Saheb Bazar, Alupatti and met at a road meeting in front of the big mosque at Saheb Bazar Zero Point.
At the road meeting, Nahid said, “We took to the streets with many dreams. My brother Abu Sayeed gave his chest in front of the police bullets. The brothers of Rajshahi were martyred with many dreams. Our dream was not only the fall of Sheikh Hasina. It was the reconstruction of Bangladesh through reforms.” He also said, “After August 5, the path to reforms has been blocked due to the conspiracies of various forces. We admit that we made mistakes. We had limitations. But today we are sworn to not make this mistake again. We will not give any more opportunities. We must end dictatorship and dynasticism. We will build new politics and new settlements based on merit and ability.”
